Car Wash App | Udacity UX Nanodegree Project
This is a use case for a mobile app to order car cleaning services online and get the service at your location.
1 . Discovery:
Research & Analysis
To get a deep understanding of the problem, I conducted 4 semi-structured interviews with car owners on their needs, pain points, experiences with car washes, and their thoughts about ordering car cleaning services online.
Results & Opportunities
Key finding # 1
- Car owners wait for an average of 30m
to get the turn to wash their cars -
Opportunity
Knowing that most users wash their cars every week,
It will be a good opportunity to spare them this wait.
Key finding # 2
- Users are cautious about who will clean their cars -
Opportunity
It'd be a good opportunity to build a product that
focuses on users’ ratings and feedback about the
level of service and also identifies car cleaning workers
and their proficiency level.
2 . Design:
Concepts,
Features & Prioritization
Features & Prioritization
For the next step, I made a user flow diagram to define the main flow and tasks that the user will go through
Sketching
3 . Develop:
Prototyping
I started to design screens side by side with the style guide in an iterative cycle to get a complete style guide, UI elements library, and finally a Hi-Fi prototype.
Prototype
4 . Test:
Validation, Usability, Feedback
Usability Test
To validate the user flow I conducted an unmoderated usability test using lookback
Test Results
After 4 sessions I came out with the following result
"2 out of 4 users get confused in the set location interface "
5 . Design Improvement
Hypothesis
When users saw both the map section and the disabled CTA button so they couldn’t finish the order
Solution
when the map becomes more stand out the task of setting location will be more clear and confirm order as well

Before improvement
After improvement
